Elevated Menswear for Stage Class

Elevated Menswear for Stage Class

$20.00

Dress like a man who knows how to dress! In this class, Rusty will discuss different aspects of mens costumes for stage. Going over tips for buying and fitting menswear for AFAB bodies, no-sew and low-sew tricks for getting your costumes to fit better, and discussing how details of costume and outfit design, such as silhouette, material choices, body contouring, accessories and embellishments, take pedestrian ideas of dress and elevate them to enhance a characters stage presence, storytelling, and fictional world.

This class contains a 72 minute lecture with Q+A, and over 30 slides of written information and images included in the video, as well as some additional links for future research. Part of the original class held at Thrust Fest, Boston’s first drag king festival, also included time at the end for everyone to take their measurements and fill out a worksheet. In lieu of the in-person measuring, the worksheet is included onscreen at the end of the lecture to screenshot and fill out yourself at home. The video will be available to view for a minimum of 6 months after purchase. You’re welcome to screenshot the slides for your own reference as well, I just ask you do not share them with others who have not purchased the class. I will also give a full disclaimer that the lecture was shot on an iphone in a 40-person classroom, so there is some background noise to the video, but everything is legible.
